Disturbing Fact - Unemployment Rates For Diabled

A very disturbing fact has just recently been published! It has been eighteen years since the The Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) was enacted. But, currently two out of three people with significant disabilities are unemployed, a disturbing statistic that disability organizations say is unchanged from when the original ADA became law.

Hello Pete

That is socking to me, to hear about 2 out of 3 significant disabilities are unemployed. Are they unemployed because they are un employable, due to their disabilities? Do you think with all of possibility that the internet provides. All of the business opportunities available online, perhaps the disabled can find independence by working on the internet. All they need is training, and learn their way around online. I personally know of a few very successful bloggers who are disabled. A def mother who have 3 def children, and a cerebral palsy who can only type with only her left thumb. Both of these people learned the internet and now are both successful bloggers. Any how, keep up the good work; you are making a difference for the disabled.

If I was just a Head. I would be working one way or the other.Great Blog.

Pete, This is a very sad fact for me to hear. That's 66% of disabled people. In a country as rich as the USA? Very Sad! I realize that some don't want to work and others can't work, but with the power of the internet, just about anyone can do something online if they have the tools and skills required to make a living online. A foundation doing something about it is the Frost Freedom Foundation. A new online foundation that I support. Please help spread the word to these disabled people who want help, not a hand out, but a hand. The Frost Freedom Foundation dot org is doing this for disabled people.
